Long ago in the North, people hunted animals like the bowhead whale for everything they needed. But hunting a bowhead whale is not easy, and hunters had to study each whale carefully before beginning the hunt.

In this story based on his memories and knowledge of his ancestors, Joanasie Karpik tells about traditional bowhead whale hunting methods and how they have been followed for many years.
